Demographics

The city of Cullman is the county seat of Cullman County. Cullman is a thriving community in north Alabama, midway between Birmingham and Huntsville. The city’s population is approximately 15,000, while the total population of the county is approximately just under 81,000 (according to the U.S. Census estimates).

New Business Start-Up

The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce understands that in today’s competitive environment, starting a new business is difficult. That’s why we offer new businesses the Business Resource Center.

Located within the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce, the Business Resource Center offers one-one-one business counseling, seminars, business plan development, business license and name reservation information, capital funding, marketing strategy development, and more to new businesses to help them become find success within our community.

Certificate of origin and Notary Services

Benefits of being a member of the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce go beyond the basics. As a member benefit, the Chamber will sign Certificates of Origin and provide notary services.

Housing Study

The Cullman Area Housing Needs Assessment combines an evaluation of housing and economic trends, market, socio-economic, and demographic data, with an analysis of housing, commercial, and neighborhood conditions, to forecast future housing needs. The Housing Needs Assessment was an expected outcome that was outlined in the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce’s five-year strategic plan, and it was completed on March 22, 2019. Livability

Cullman County is situated in North Alabama, approximately 45 miles south of Huntsville and 45 miles north of Birmingham. The vibrant community has a population of 16,063. The median income is $40,204, while the medium home value is $148,891. The community is also home to portions of Smith Lake, one of the country’s cleanest lakes and the deepest lake in the state of Alabama.
